A newly upgraded career sote for Michigan job seekers is now live. Hosted by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and powered by SmartJobBoard’s advanced AI technology, the Michigan Career Portal provides job seekers with a more dynamic and personalized experience as they explore career opportunities across the Great Lakes State.

The portal was first introduced in 2023 as part of Michigan’s national award-winning talent attraction campaign, “You Can in Michigan.” It has become a vital resource for job seekers nationwide, offering access to more than 144,000 job postings across various industries. After a year of engaging with users and industry experts, the MEDC identified opportunities to enhance the portal’s functionality to better connect job seekers with relevant opportunities based on their skills, experience, education and interests. SmartJobBoard was selected to power the upgraded platform due to its advanced capabilities and alignment with MEDC’s evolving talent acquisition goals.
“Our newly updated Michigan Career Portal has already been well received by job seekers, and we are seeing a significant increase in the number of monthly signups in addition to increased engagement with the content,” said Spencer Lucker, MEDC Talent Solutions Director of Strategic Initiatives.
The enhanced Michigan Career Portal offers:
- Personalized Job Matching – Utilizing AI-powered matching tools, users receive job recommendations aligned with their career goals and qualifications.
- Improved User Experience – An intuitive interface ensures seamless navigation, making it easier to search and apply for jobs.
- Expanded Resources – The portal’s “Tips & Resources” blog offers a wealth of resources tailored to assist job seekers in navigating Michigan’s diverse employment landscape, including veteran support, resume and cover letter advice, interview preparation insights, information on local job fairs and networking events and LinkedIn optimization strategies.
The Michigan Career Portal remains a key component of the state’s broader talent attraction and retention efforts, helping individuals across the country discover the benefits of living and working in Michigan.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with MEDC on this important initiative,” said SmartJobBoard CEO Rodion Telpizov. “Our technology is designed to create a seamless and efficient job search experience, and we are proud to support Michigan’s efforts to attract top talent and connect job seekers with meaningful career opportunities in the state.”
